Software Faith

This week I'm following a SOA Software Training at IBM. IBM's technology is great, but still I realize how Software AG was innovative at the time I worked there back in 2000.

In particular, Bolero, a product which has been stopped did contain many of the importat aspects linked to Business Development leading to an SOA Architecture.

  • BPM could have been implemented easilly with the Long Running Transactions
  • Services Business Logic could be written using the Bolero Language (look at IBM's EGL)

In combination with an ongoing Tamino and EntireX integration, Bolero would be, from a technical point of view, very competitive.

This shows me that we sometimes need to believe more in what we are doing and keep on with a strategy. My feeling today is that there was vision and innovation at Software AG at that time, and it could have become a big hit right now...
